I’m looking to replace my existing engine with a crate engines(sbc) I was recommended to go with long tube due to the torque of the engine but the 1988 4x4 couldn’t support but it seems u may have a mid header
Yes it’s mid length headers. They fit great.
What size header 1/3/4 or 1/7/8 and do u have a collector
it was Flowtech Brand part # 31504FLT purchased from Summit Racing, 1 5/8” primary outside diameter, 3” collector and a bolt on collector reducer to 2.5”
Ok I will look into that I appreciate ur feedback
Straight Pipe All the Way....no baffle...
Can I ask please, im not an expert in trucks/cars at all, but i have a 1992 chevy that roars. It has a nice purr and all, but when it accelerates, i want it to be loud as shit and sound like a monster truck like yours. Like by that I mean when your reaching high speeds hauling ass. Do you know what gets that noise? Supercharged?? Or is it something more affordable do you think? I'm just 16 so I don't know all this 😂 For another example btw, listen to Sylvester Stallones 1955 Ford F100 in the movie the Expendables
The loudest change you can make is to delete the catalytic converter…other than that a high flow, straight through muffler or glasspack would be your second best option. The diameter of the exhaust pipe or pipes makes a difference on sound too.
@Jay_T Thanks so much brother 🙏
@@Jay_T May I ask, is, is a high flow cat converter illegal.
as far as i know a high flow cat is still legal. I currently have one on my Miata and it made the exhaust slightly louder. I believe a 200 cell Flowmaster branded cat is what I have on it.
Sounds like shit Do more research
Put a zz632 in it
Getting an x pipe true duals and headers installed. Should have back by this week!!!!
That’s gonna be rowdy!
My question is how did he get in that car and open the door between that other one😅?
practice & precision
Did you keep the factory cats?
no cats
I made my lawn mower I bought for 50$ on Facebook marketplace. I added a new muffler, intake. Made it from I2 to V2 so it looks cooler. Then added a turbo
Very nice. This is a 4wd truck. Correct? I’ve heard of some people getting LT’s to fit, but I’m weary. To be honest, I’m even a little nervous about going with the midlengths :)
Yes, 4wd truck. These headers fit perfectly! The 3” body lift made installation & fitment alot easier for sure. Midlengths are the way to go in my opinion, but I have had a similar truck that was 2wd and I had long tubes put on it (pacesetter brand) and they fit good too…a little close to the passenger frame area & cross member behind engine, but nothing to worry about…
Sounds awesome!
Baffles made it sound deeper
It really does change the sound for the better…weird how little baffles make such a big difference. I highly recommend them.
So did you end up just running the glasspack or are you running a combo of glasspack and muffler?
just the single 3” diameter glasspack (Cherrybomb)
turn up idle😅
NEVERRR.
can you run regular spark plugs? and is it a pain to replace them?
Yes I ran regular spark plugs and it was not difficult to change them
Average Honda owners
💯
@@Jay_T I riced out my 08 civic hybrid with a cvt for fun, I did it due to the hybrid battery going bad and this was it's last death, I got pictures and shit and my god I got some laughs out of it
Service your lifter bro, i can hear that front exhaust ticking
My hydraulic lifters are fine…this tick noise is notorious for these motors with a high lift cam. All good!
I love loud exhausts but highways must be hell with that
It really wasn’t bad at all! Hardly any drone, but you could still hear the nice tone while cruising.
a muffler gives you like 25% more hp , be careful out there
wow who woulda thought
What’s those tires and your rim size
I honestly don’t remember the size…maybe 285/75/15? they measured close to a 33” tire…and the brand of tires was Thunderer Trac Grip M/T I believe. Wheels were old American Racing wheels from the 1990’s.
@@Jay_TWhat size lift kit do you have on this truck?
@@franciscorebollar4974 it was just a 3” body lift
was that on the stock cats too?
what cats? :)
so glad i came across this video never thought glass packs would sound so good now i gotta get some for my 5.0😩
it was a shocker to me too because i’ve always heard glasspacks on the worst sounding vehicles
Did you get a cel when removing the cat?
I did not. Seems the older OBD1 systems like this truck had are more resilient when doing mods as compared to the finicky sensitive OBD2 in the 96+ trucks (i believe thats when obd2 started?)
You're the only person I've seen to have the same exact wheels I have.
The whole time I owned it I never saw another pair either. Definitely uncommon set of wheels.
Why did you put a baffle?
Tried to quiet it down to not piss off the neighbors
@@Jay_T Why should they care?
This is the best video will said and explained 👍😎👍
what brand of straight pipes are those?
I honestly have no idea as they came on the bike when I purchased it…but i’m assuming Paughco brand
Are these just glasspack?? Other after market mufflers??
the whole setup is in the description…stock manifolds, X pipe, no cats, dual 8” glasspacks
Works great! ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxprGGPRQoChQaA8u58dt7miEpxQBKiWeJ More difficult with longer grass, though, but I was expecting that. I have a small back yard, it seemed like overkill to buy a lawnmower with an engine. This is easy to carry in and out of the basement through the bulkhead. Very sharp (be careful). At the back of the mower are little wheels, which I use when pulling the mower backwards, so it's easy to readjust direction. I'm including a photo which shows the before and after for my lawn when it was at its longest. For long grass like that you really have to put some muscle into it, and I needed to go into a new section of grass with some momentum, but when the grass is only an inch or two higher than regular cut height it's quite easy. The lawn is still patchy and full of weeds, but at least it's a good height! A step in the right direction.
I have pretty much the same pipes on my Stage 2 93 FXDL but with baffles...not a lot quieter, but the backpressure helps.
As a welder i can indeed say he did not do a good job on that welding lol
Your not reving it right, there is a rod that goes behind, under the tank on some that is a throttle and start playing with it, I rev my Jdm mower
Awesome!
Sports cars have the same auto tilt on their wings as your muffler
I've listen to lots of different exhaust sit-ups and was considering straight piping it because it was the closest to achieving the sound that I was looking for but I finally found what I want in this video, your car sounds awesome this is exactly the exhaust tone that I was trying to get its very deep at idle but aggressive when you get on it also has a smooth growl but not raspy
I appreciate the compliment…I really had low expectations slapping on glasspacks, but it turned out a heck of alot better than I thought it would!
You lose any power going with 3" ? I went with 2.25" recommended by the muffler shop . Its loud on the freeway with the drone with flows.
I would say no power loss…only because I have the 2 into 1 style exhaust. It’s like 2.25” from both headers and goes into 1 pipe that is 3” all the way back. If the exhaust was true dual with 2 pipes being 3” diameter each then I would say there would definitely be power loss unless you’re over 500 horsepower. This truck probably has 190hp to the wheels so no reason to go duals unless you just prefer the style.
Make it idle real low and it will sound cammed
4:29 that was badass😂
Now that's how you make a video to show the sound of the exhaust 🔥💯
What the fuck is this video 😂
About to purchase these. Just making sure I get the right one, is the body length 8in?
Yes that is correct, overall length of 12”
Okay thanks a lot bro..
@@Jay_T where did u buy them from? Like what website sounds awesome 👍🏼 by way
I bought them in person at the Summit store, but you could buy them online at the same store or many other places im sure
One of the Best loud exhaust ever hear
Love it mines a 93 sounds almost identical. Mine has edelbrock heads and cams soo it’s a bit raspier than yours but still gotta love those TBI engines though
yeah but mine has a supercharger
How much will it cost me to get the exhaust put on? I already ordered the flow master super 10s. And does it have to be welded?
Most likely will have to be welded...if not clamped. Might cost $100 or so
I'm not mechanically inclined lol I thought it would be more that's wasup thanks alot bro
Low idle sound bad ass
Man i love it too but it's soooo bad for the motor lol
Dad had one that sounded similar. A little more deep of a sound, but now I've got an 89 k1500, and he's still got the old truck for parts, with the exhaust 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Do these headers bolt up to the stock y-pipe? I have the same exact truck and I am looking into getting headers without having to get a complete custom exhaust system
They do not bolt up without modifications to the stock Y pipe. The exhaust shop had to tweak my stock Y pipe a little...a little cutting and welding. Not much at all.
Love the white 5.0
completely stock motor?
Yes
